“A student in this rotation should expect extremely knowledgeable clinical instructors, various pediatric settings, amazing patients, rewarding experiences, and the knowledge necessary for entry-level work as a pediatric physical therapist.  Community-STARs offers a variety of experiences across all pediatric settings, including school-based, early intervention, and outpatient.  Kim and Kristin, the two clinical instructors, are beyond knowledgeable in the area of pediatrics with their PCS (two of the twenty-seven in the entire state of Virginia!) Not only do they provide a valuable learning experience, they are energetic, fun, positive, and encouraging.  This rotation requires someone who can think on their feet, is flexible with scheduling, implements feedback quickly, and has great rapport with children and their parents.  Any student with a sincere interest in the pediatric practice area would be lucky to complete this rotation.  I miss my kiddos every day!”
